****SOLD**** Orange Little Blue Book (1922): $10

****SOLD****
Alexander Dumas' Crimes of the Borgias. Ed. H.M. Tichenor. Little Blue Book No. 66. (1922)
Very small! Barely taller than a tea cup. I get a serious kick out of the fact that this "Little Blue Book" is as not-blue as it can be.
Price: $10

"Historical Note: Emanuel Haldeman-Julius (1888-1951) began publishing his "Little Blue Books" in 1919 in order for classic works of literature to be available for a much lower price than usual, at five or ten cents each. His association with the Socialist party led him to buy the Socialist paper Appeal to Reason along with their printing press, which he used to publish a number of his books. The books became widely popular, and by 1949, over 300,000,000 had been sold. The series includes over a thousand titles spanning a wide range of material, from novels to philisophical tracts to advice manuals. The first several hundred books include mostly previously published pieces, but the series later expanded to include original works as well. Some of these are edited versions of more extensive pieces and some are completely original.
Additional historical information about the Haldeman-Julius publications can be found on the
Haldeman-Julius.org collectors' site."

Technical difficulties

There'll be a bit of a slowdown in postings this week, as I am going to be laptop-less. The ominous blue tint which reared its weird little head on my screen last week has evolved into a flurry of staticky blue lines and so back to HP our little darlin' goes.

The Trove itself is fully stocked with goodies, so please do feel free to schedule a raid!

****SOLD**** 1960s GE clock: $10

****SOLD****
Throughout the 70s and most of the 80s, my parents had one of those wide faux wood TV consoles. I've always liked the proportions of that piece and was happy to find them again in this 1960s GE alarm clock. The alarm no longer works, but it still makes a nifty time-teller. Love the brown and almond colours! It would make for part of an eclectic display on your bedside table.

****SOLD**** Vintage lace-up black leather booties, size 6: $20

****SOLD****
Oh the 90s. I confess, I was a grunge-era teen. Contrasting plaids? Check. Grandma florals & liberty prints? Double-check. Grey wool socks with the red stripe - oh, indeed. Baby tees, pinkly emblazoned with "Born to be Wild" were blithely (maybe hopefully) worn by my very shy, rather nerdish self.
And with everything: black lace up shoes or boots.
These soft leather Italian-made booties would do well with the current wave of 90s nostalgia! Rock 'em with an updated floral or high-waisted anything and layer on the granny necklaces ;)
Size: 6
