****SOLD**** I call this dress the Aurora Borealis. I love the way the colours (oh those vibrant 80s tones!) blend into each other. The waist is elasticized, and would fit someone who wears small to medium (6 to 10), as long as she is quite busty. The crossover top is rather blousy in fit. Price: $15
****SOLD**** Label: H&M - Size: medium Who says a grey cotton tee can't have pizazz? Will you look at the sleeves on this one? Tuck this into a high waisted skirt, let the shoulders do the talking :) Price: $10
****SOLD****This little owl lost his head (my friend Dickie claims that it was a party trick gone horribly wrong), but the loss won't ruffle his (porcelain) feathers. He knows he still looks good. Give a headless owl a new home? My hope is that a simple white teapot lid will look quite dignified, however I don't want to get ahead of myself. Price: $10
****SOLD**** Label: Cassis Size: M (a very loose fitting medium, both in style & size) The last few days I've been living in my thickest coziest knits. Cold? No doubt about it! Fight the cold in this comfy , yet stylish, belted sweater in dusty pink with dark purple embroidery. The fit is loose enough to wear over another long-sleeved top, yet structured enough for it to look good, not sloppy. The wide kimono sleeves add to an already unique silhouette! Price: $15 (retailed for over $60)
****SOLD**** I really enjoy the unusual colour combination on these vintage 70s mugs: dark blue flowers on a pale grey background. Made in Japan. Price: $10 for the set of 4
****SOLD**** Dig those lapels, shiny buttons, and big pockets! Vintage 70s belted top, hip length. Looks great over a knit turtleneck, with a sharp dark denim. Size: M/L Price: $10
****SOLD**** Back in college, my go-to winter socks used to be a warm wooly grey pair, with a beige and red stripe at the top. It was the (sigh) grunge hey-day, and we were all guilty of contrasting plaids, plastic butterfly barrettes, cheap slip dresses, baby tees with slogans like "Wild Thing" printed on them, and trying to make our 8 hole Docs look a little less...pristine. I wouldn't revisit any of those fashion crimes...except for those wonderful warm wooly socks. And this hat. Which reminds me of those socks ;) It is large hat. Price: $10
****SOLD**** My current TV obsession is Mad Men - and I am particularly keen on the ladies' accessories. Oh, to have a stab at that show's closet! I enjoy the way they celebrate Joan's lush curves, and oh, the WAISTLINES! Show yours off with this slinky pale gold-tone metal belt with long metal clasp. Belt appears very yellow gold toned in the photo - blame that on the lighting - it is actually very very pale gold in colour. Size: XS/S (I wear a 6 and it fits high on my waist). Price: $15
Inspiration: how much better would any of these outfits look with a thin metallic belt?
****SOLD**** I recently purchased three alarm clocks. Three. Really, how badly do I want to wake up? I couldn't resist the kooky retro charm of this one, but I'm afraid it'll have to go. Made by the United Clock Corp. of Brooklyn, N.Y., this owl clock stands about 6" tall (on bright little feet!), has glow-in-the-dark numbers and might even provoke a grin or two in the morning. Price: $10
****SOLD**** What's not to enjoy? Inexpensive? Check! Rich navy colour? Check! Nifty double strap? Check-check! Tone-on-tone leather detail on the front? Check! Price: $10
****SOLD**** Label: Arden B. Size: S (it zips up the side) Lovely satin top, butterfly short sleeves, rich magenta colour and ooh-la-LA cut-out front. Try with a matching bra for a night out - jump on that ever-so-tricksy "lingerie as outerwear" trend. Or wear with a contrasting cami for a shot of silky colour! Price: $10
****SOLD**** Vintage 60s black dress, babydoll style, with a wonderful ruffled neckline that dips into a vee in the front, and rises against your neck in the back. Skirt is A-line from just below the bust. Slightly puffed shoulders, small ruffles at the wrist, Empire/babydoll waistline (the dress is a Medium, and too big for the mannequin, hence the slightly baggy appearance), and it falls to about 3" above the knee on pint-sized (5'2") me. Price: $30
****SOLD**** Really lovely set of pale blue tea cups and saucers. One of the cups has a small chip - you can see it on the top left cup in the photo above. This set most likely dates from the 1960s, but could be as early as the 1940s. J&G Meakin, made in England, stamped CELESTE registered SOL 391493. Price: $20 for the set
****SOLD**** Label: Sisley Size: 4 (XS/S) High waisted A-line jacquard mini. Gold flowers on a silver leafy background. Simple silhouette with a lot of metallic punch! Team with flats and a wide belt in a contrasting colour, keep the rest simple :) Price: $15
****SOLD**** This bright green & turquoise vintage 70s dripware bowl would serve well in almost any room. At about 6" across, it would make a charming soap dish, or a key bowl, or a place for you to drop your earrings before falling asleep. Price: $10
***SOLD**** Tea cups, pink transferware, made in England? Or 'beautiful phoenix escapes from foliage?' Mismatched Royal Doulton saucers, also made in England? Or 'perfectly mismatched saucers with oriental flare?' Save them for a special occasion? Or use them to make a special occasion? I know what my decision would be :) Price: $15 for the pair
