****SOLD**** This studio pottery bull has been living in my kitchen for the last couple of weeks - specifically on a shelf, surrounded by tea cups my grandmother gave me. It's been making me laugh, but really, I don't have the space for my personal "bull in a china shop" vignette. This is a pottery piece from the 1960s, from the studio of David (DT) Sharp - Rye, England. The layers of glaze form a primitive, almost celtic, pattern on his hunched body.

This little darlin' kinda looks like a robot's head. A sad battered robot cyclops, searching for its robot body. Is it weird that I find that endearing? The original delivery tag (1968) is on the bottom of one of the chairs. They're a little scratched and scuffed (on the metal not the fabric) but they've got another 40 years in 'em yet!

Cheiro (November 1, 1866 - October 8, 1936) was a famous Irish astrologer and palm reader. "Cheiro had a wide following of famous European and American clients during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He read the palms and told the fortunes of famous celebrities like Mark Twain, W. T. Stead, Sarah Bernhardt, Mata Hari, Oscar Wilde, Grover Cleveland, Thomas Edison, the Prince of Wales, General Kitchener, William Ewart Gladstone, and Joseph Chamberlain. He documented his sittings with these clients by asking them to sign a guest book he kept for the purpose, in which he encouraged them to comment on their experiences as subjects of his character analyses and predictions." (Wikipedia) He wrote a number of books, including this one (1958 edition). The ongoing heat wave has had me wearing my lightest summer dresses on a regular rotation. I've been grounding the floaty frocks with a mishmash of eclectic vintage jewelry, layering on light lariat necklaces, and jangling with bangles. These two vintage 70s cuff bracelets can add some shimmer to your summer. They're approx. 3" in diameter, and are 3/4" wide. The top bracelet is a cuff, open at one end and very flexible - it also has a neat South American inspired scene on it. The bottom bracelet is a hinged bangle.

Hello dear folk,

The wedding is a little over two months away ( * little voice in my head starts screaming faintly *) so my beau and I are kicking certain prep items into high gear over the next few days.
