1920s graniteware or enamelware bread box, made in Germany.  Beautiful Art Deco curved design.
This item is in very good condition, given its age, with some wear to the enamel on the back and around the edges of the lid.   All the hardware is nickel, and the latch closes securely.   Would be a stunning treasure to add to your kitchen shelves, and makes a nifty silverware chest in a pinch!  This would be a remarkable wedding gift for a lover of shabby chic/ vintage housewares.

***SOLD***  Lot of six delicate gold-tone vintage brooches, unsigned except for the straight faux pearl one, which is marked Richelieu.  Nice mix of faux pearl, rhinestone, floral & filigree.  The tiny key brooch can also be worn as a pendant.   These are perfect for craft projects as well, and can be incorporated into bridal bouquets, or onto ribbons wrapped around bridesmaids' posies.   They are quite small, the largest is the gold-tone knot, at 2" across.

Dear Trovers,

I'd like to thank everyone for the flood of compassionate email I received yesterday about Betty-cat.   So many of you chose to share your own experiences of loss with me, and I'll be responding to each message over the next few days, but I know that revisiting those memories isn't always easy and I truly appreciate your taking the time to reach out to our little family.

Betty-cat is doing well so far, she's on antibiotics, as well as prednisone, and her energy is high.  Her breathing is a little laboured, but she's still galloping around the apartment, climbing our bookcase, and chasing after bugs.  We saw her jump up and swat one out of mid-air yesterday - it was acrobatic and goofy all at the same time :)
