****SOLD**** Three looks in one - double strand of pearls & huge 60s brooch: $20

****SOLD****
Two vintage pieces, three looks!

1. Double strand of pale pink faux-pearls with pretty clasp! Lovely with a simple sheath dress, or worn as part of a frenzy of other necklaces for a Madonna moment.

2. Double strand of pearls, anchored by this huge Monet gold-tone brooch (measures close to 3" across). Use this knockout combo to bring some zing to a classic white blouse or a fitted cardi.

3. Monet brooch, on its own. I'm so glad that brooches are making such a come back! You can wear them in so many ways - at your shoulder or collar, or even to hold a long silky scarf in place. A big ole brooch is an easy way to add some sparkle to a favourite blazer or coat.

Two pieces, at least 3 looks, and for only $20!

****SOLD**** Ruffled grace! Vintage blouse, size M: $15

The beauty of this vintage 80s Marc D'Alcy blouse is all about the way the light fabric moves as you do, oh the billowy sleeves and ruffled collar! The collar is dramatic enough on its own, however it is also the perfect backdrop for a whole mess of necklaces - or perhaps a string of pearls! The greyish purple colour works well with most skin tones, and my goodness does this item ever tuck well into a skirt!
Size: M (8-10)
Price: $15

Layer them with your chunkier bangles or cuffs for some added texture, or dither over which single bracelet to pair with your fave striped tee and jeans or cropped black trousers.
Length of each bracelet: 7.5"
Price: $20 for the pair

Stay away from chicken pot pie & also: soon to glitter in the Trove!

Hello dear Trovers!

The wedding is in 20 days. TWENTY days. How did that happen?
Ack. ACK, says I!

Als0 - updates came to a screeching halt last week when I ate a piece of store-bought chicken pot pie and spent the next 72 hours really wishing I hadn't.

I'm pretty much fully recovered, and managed to take a few photos of pretties this morning, so you should see the following sparkling in the Trove very soon:
  • vintage signed Weiss brooch - japanned jet & black rhinestone
  • pair of perfectly mismatched vintage rhinestone bracelets
  • short-sleeved lace blouse, 1970s
  • set of 4 gold & white starburst glasses, 1960s
  • vintage double-strand of pale pink faux-pearls, with large 1960s brooch (so Mad Men!)
  • Betsey Johnson leopard print crushed velvet cardigan
  • long-sleeved pale mushroom blouse, with floral detailing on the back, sleeve, and bodice, 1970s
  • long-sleeved mauve blouse with poet's collar, perfect for tucking into higher waisted skirts or trousers, 1980s, Marc D'Alcy
  • set of 4 delicate mugs, made in Japan, white with green & orange flower cart illustration, 1970s

Hope y'all are well!

****SOLD**** Gold-plated vintage prong-set cubic zirconia ring, size 5: $20

****SOLD****
I call this the "Hollywood Bling Engagement Ring" because it is ridiculous (look at the size of the cubic zirconia stone!), ornate, and very photogenic. It is also gold plated, 14kt to be precise, vintage 1960s, and quite teeny - a size 5.

Price: $20

This is a striking modern necklace composed of jasper and howlite in 925 silver settings. The necklace measures 17.5" in length and the pale creamy yellow and light lilac tones in the stones would complement a wide range of skin tones.

****SOLD****
Industrial chic! 1950s vintage drafting stool with adjustable back and wide round base. The seat and back are covered in the original very dark green vinyl. • industrial chic 1960s tall drafting chair with round base
  • vintage 1960s faux pearl & leaf gold-tone necklace

Also, I've been contemplating a one day getaway for S. & myself - we've been so wrapped up in the planning & prepping frenzy that we haven't had any stress-free time together in ages. I was thinking of Burlington, VT, and voila, the lovely folk at DesignSponge just featured a guide to the city! I think that's a sign ;)

Wedding update! Or "Why the Trove has been so Quiet Recently!"

FIVE WEEKS TO THE WEDDING! I CAN ONLY THINK IN EXCLAMATORY CAPITAL LETTERS THESE DAYS!

But for the sake of legibility, I'll refrain from typing that way ;)

Invitations have all been sent out & the RSVPs are coming in! HUGE thanks to my dear friend Kiley for incorporating about a dozen different ideas into the perfect invitation design. If any of you need postcards or cards printed quickly and well, I highly recommend talking to Ric at Print Shop Services. They're located right downtown in the Belgo building, and were fast, courteous and well-priced.

Paper pompoms and flowers are being made by yers truly this weekend, and the favours will be prepped as well. I fell in love with the small mason jars that Binky at Cafe Fuchsia uses for her savoury spice rubs, and she was kind enough to point me in the direction of Home Canning Machinery. They were a pleasure to deal with and their store front looks like an old pharmacy!

I have THREE dress options (which surprises no one who knows me). There was a 4th, but it was a tad too large and has been removed from the list of possibilities - it will be appearing in the Trove very soon!

The "Veil or No Veil" debate ended when I stumbled over Brenda's Bridal Veils. Gahh. Eye candy! Feathers and flowers and fascinators, oh my!

We met our photographer, Martin of SafeSolvent, and feel like we've made a new friend. We chatted about the wedding for about an hour and were all giddy at the end. Check out the gorgeous short film he shot in the dreamiest location - do you like doll houses and vintage-inspired clothing? You'll LOVE this!

Our caterer, Hilary of Visionaire Catering, is the SWEETEST lady in the world. She came over for a tasting (mmm, brunch for dinner), shooed us out of our kitchen, and treated us to a smorgasbord of yummies.

The cupcake liners have arrived, and, so have the paper lanterns and ribbon (so inspired by this image!) I'll be scouring garage sales for tea tins and milk glass this weekend - this is so exciting!

I picked up the supplies I need to make my flower girls' headbands, and the groomsmens' boutonnieres. Thank goodness for the craft section at Omer De Serres!

I'm off to Fabricville to look at table runner fabric options AND we're registering today after work. So AMPED!

Hope you're all well :)
