*SOLD*Vibrantly colourful pair of vintage tins: $20

*SOLD* Robin's egg blue and rich red is my favourite vintage colour combination, so my eyes lit up like nobody's business when I encountered these beauties at an estate sale this weekend.

The large round tin on the left was used to store silver polishing supplies for decades, but dates to the 1930s and was originally used as a fruit cake tin.  The lettering on the front surrounds a dark haired gal, and it reads "POM Holy Day Fruit Cake."  The lettering on the interior reads Harrions Brothers Limited, POM HALL, MONTREAL.   This remarkable tin is 10" in diameter and stands 3 1/4" tall.

The smaller tin on the right is unmarked,  stands 6" tall and 5" in diameter.  It is gloriously adorned with roses, marigolds, and other blooms in dusky pinks, golds and apricot.

Price: $25 $20 for both

*SOLD* Amethyst art glass, Fenton rose bowl: $20

Dear Brain,

Please understand that I respect and love you, and have been trying to do well by you in recent months, providing classic literature (via Kobo, yay free books), and ingesting PBS documentaries and NPR radio programmes as much as possible. Therefore, I would like to humbly request that you cooperate with me, and turn off the pulsing section dedicated entirely towards identifying ANYTHING as a potential "wedding colour scheme."

I was trying to write about how pretty the vintage glass art piece (pictured above, and below) is, but you are making it very difficult to do so, because you insist on blaring the following alarm: "Amethyst. Cream. Brass. Crystal. PERFECT WEDDING COLOUR SCHEME!"

You and I both know, the wedding was almost a year and a quarter ago, so I'm simply asking you to make an effort. Perhaps as a transitional method, you can replace the word 'wedding' with '5 year anniversary', thus reducing both the frantic and the incorrect overtones of your favourite feverish phrase.

Love, omega fatty acids, and some quality time with the Norton Anthology of English Literature,

Me

*SOLD*
PS: Amethyst art glass rose bowl, by Fenton, 5" tall, 7" in diameter, would make a lovely wedding (argh) 5th anniversary (we can't keep it!) party piece, especially as part of a candy buffet, or centerpiece (with candles!), or as a place for your (wedding/anniversary/SPECIAL EVENT) guests to leave handwritten postcards filled with well wishes for your future (together in married bliss...oh, I give up!)

*SOLD* Vintage silver-plated hand mirror: $30

*SOLD* Pardon the awkward placement of my reflection in the mirror - I didn't realize I was marring the photos with my puffy morning face :)

Vintage silver-plated hand mirror, in an Art Nouveau style, though it dates to the 1950s. The mirror itself is of excellent quality. The silver-plate could use some polishing, but I've left it with the original patina for those who prefer it.

*SOLD*
This sparkly little glass beauty of a vanity mirror is from the 1930s or 40s and stands 10" tall and 4" across the base. It makes a sweet accent lamp, particularly placed in front of a mirror (bonus: you double your light!).

*SOLD* Large vintage OKeefe wall clock: $30

*SOLD*
This vibrant red beaut of a wall clock was picked from an estate sale, where I was told it had adorned a large den for decades, overseeing many raucous bashes.
