This 2-tiered Glo-Hill chrome tray features bakelite feet, handles, and center post. 
Shiny mirror-finish shallow square chrome trays with rounded corners are 7-1/4" square and 9-1/4" square respectively.  Bottom tray has attached endpieces that serve as both handles and feet.
Tapered bakelite center post with chrome accents flares out at the top to become a 1-1/2" diameter carrying knob.   All bakelite is a beautiful marbleized caramel and brown color.  Unit stands 10-1/4" tall and comes apart via a screw on the bottom for easy cleaning.
Underside of lower tray carries its original sticker that says “Gourmates styled by Glo-Hill Canada.”
Excellent vintage condition.

The Glo-Hill Company began as a manufacturer of fine Bakelite tableware and barware and was founded in Montreal, Canada in 1946 by brothers Sol, Paul and Leo Globus and brother-in-law Harry Hill. Together, they formed the company, GLO-HILL. They designed and produced many different design lines of fine tableware, barware and giftware, marketed under different design names. This particular Bakelite serving tray is one of those designs and was called Gourmates The company produced Bakelite barware and flatware until the 1950's.
