Brain glitch: Whenever I hear 'mother of pearl' I flash back to a Colgate whitening toothpaste commercial from the mid-90s. The young teacher asks her kindergarten class what colour her teeth are, and is flustered by the responses ranging from 'beige' and 'ecru' to 'mother of pearl!' I wonder what that wee kidlet is up to these days.
